"The Flooded Playground (Institutional Use: Library/High School/Non-Profit)" Overview

The Flooded Playground is a digitally composed animated fairy tale about a young child who resides in a house which has a darkly disturbing force that oppresses him in body, mind and spirit. The wallpaper torments him, a malevolent wind deters him from eating, and thorned vines erupt in his bedroom. A sudden cataclysm throws him into a craggy wonderland where he wanders into deep forests and through his inner inferno in a quest to mend his damaged spirit. The main character is portrayed by a Victorian doll who is brought to life by digitally modified sequential photos. The poetic and dreamlike characters and backdrops are created with a hybrid animation technique that combines photography, drawing, painting and special effects. Thematically, this film is concerned with the amorphous fears, yearnings, and magical thinking of childhood, the meaning of home, and the resiliency of the human spirit. It is intended for adults and mature children and has little spoken language.

This product is manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply.
